Christian, you don’t have a sin nature or a NATURE TO SIN … you have a NEW nature! Your sin nature (flesh) was dealt with ONCE at the cross, your flesh (own ways) have been crucified ONCE and have DIED with Christ. Your DEAD old nature has been replaced with His living Spirit and a new heart. You have a nature of LOVE, HOPE, JOY, PEACE, GENTLENESS, PATIENCE, FAITHFULNESS, KINDNESS, and SELF CONTROL … NOT one of SIN.
Sin has no power or dominion over you – ZERO, ZIP – because you are now a NEW CREATION under the care of His Grace (Jesus). Jesus will provide a way out of each and every temptation, and yes, when you mess up … He is your advocate with the Father.
Can we still sin, yes. Can we still make stupid mistakes, yes. Can we still be disobedient, yes. But the sinless One dwells inside you. When you fill an old person with a new living breathing person, you become like that NEW person. We become like the One who dwells inside us! For those walking moment by moment ***surrendered*** as an act of love, faith, and obedience to The Spirit … sin isn’t even an issue. Sin isn’t a fruit of the Spirit … and He Himself dwells within you! Sin doesn’t taste the same, it doesn’t have the same lure, and it doesn’t have the same emotional/mental payoff that it once had.
We have been crucified with Christ and no longer live. We DIED with Him at Calvary, and we dwell with Him right NOW in the heavenly realms able to make a POWERFUL kingdom impact here on earth. As Paul said, “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.” We must decrease in our personal desires, so He can increase in us, through us, and around us. Our time here isn’t about us … it’s about Jesus. To reject that we’ve died at the cross, is to reject His supreme and sovereign will over lives.
Our walk is way deeper than just ***wanting*** to do His will. We died at the cross WITH Christ. We and our flesh flat out died, and our personal rights were transferred from sin to righteousness (Jesus) and we now belong to another (Him) in order to bear fruit. Sin used to own both you and I … yet the finished work at the cross radically changes us from flesh dwellers to those who constantly dwell in His presence with His Spirit living inside us.
Once we understand that our flesh (SIN NATURE; NATURE TO SIN) has been crucified with Christ and that we died with Him – there is nothing left to do but walk with His Spirit. Anything short of that is placing our human will ahead of His will. Our kingdom walk starts with realizing you don’t own you. The rest is up to Him.

Romans 7:1-4 (NIV)
Released From the Law, Bound to Christ
7 Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives? 2 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.
4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.
